Senior chieftains Nkomeshya of the Soli people of Chongwe district has appealed to government to increase the number of high schools in her Chiefddom.
The chieftains bemoaned the increasing number of children who are failing to complete their secondary education due to lack of enough places in the high schools.
Chieftains Nkomeshya said this during the commissioning of Mutamino Health Post and launch of indoor residual spraying campaign in Chongwe’s Kasisi area to day.
She said the two high schools in her chiefdom,Mukamambo and Chongwe do not have enough capacity to take on the big number of pupils writing grade nine examinations.
The traditional leader emphasized on the need to educate the girl child as the saying goes”educating the girl child is educating the nation”.
Meanwhile Senior chieftains Nkomenshya commded goverment and Child fund Zambia for the health post and called on the local residents to utilise and guard the newly commissioned health post gelously.
She urged expectant mothers in particular not to deliver at home instead of the health post and must be allowing the health personnel to spray their home as way of preventing malaria.
Senior Chiftains Nkomenshya also called on the Government to ensure that food harvested the previous season does not go to waste.
